Ansilo Health was founded by Dr Michael Klein to address a fundamental gap: Africa's dependence on imported medicines and the need for locally based pharmaceutical capability.
The company was designed from inception as an integrated pharmaceutical institution — not a single-product venture or a trading operation. The strategic rationale is built on three reinforcing divisions: pharmaceutical commercialisation (providing immediate cash flow), pharmaceutical quality testing (building regulatory and quality capability), and local pharmaceutical manufacturing (creating long-term value).
Ansilo's approach is phased and disciplined: commercialisation provides near-term revenue and commercial infrastructure, quality services build regulatory credibility and technical capability, and manufacturing creates long-term value through local production capacity.
